Puppies
A foundational class for puppies under 4 months old. Covers attention, recall, sit, lie down, wait, and socialization with people and other puppies. Includes tips for house-training, chewing, play-biting, and jumping. Puppies must have received their second distemper vaccination. First class is for humans only.
Basic Manners
For dogs over 3 months old. This class focuses on getting your dog’s attention during distractions and around other dogs, leash walking, the sit-stand-lie down positions, recall, stay and wait. Common issues like jumping, chewing, and play-biting are addressed. First class is for humans only.
Small Dogs
For small dogs under 20 lbs (and larger dogs who are more comfortable with small ones). Emphasizes calm exposure, getting attention, gentle handling, and confidence building. Teach your dog recall, safe lifting cues, the sit-stand-lie down body positions, wait and stay, and walking on leash. Other small dog issues are addressed. First class is for humans only.
Shy or Timid Dogs
For dogs who are cautious around other dogs or shy due to negative previous exposure or lack of socialization. Teach your dog to be comfortable around other dogs and people. Build your dog’s confidence and learn desensitization/counter-conditioning techniques. Instructor permission is required.
Leash Reactive Dogs
For dogs who bark, lunge, pull, and overreact on leash especially to other dogs. Learn how to get your dog’s attention, reduce barking, control the leash, and calm your dog while acclimating your dog to distractions and other dogs in a safe and managed way. Instructor permission is required.
Out and About
This is a small group of Alana’s students who want to practice the exercises they learned in prior training classes and apply them in real-world public and outdoor settings. Perfect your techniques and learn new tips while being guided on skills and timing. Instructor permission is required.
